Banks in Rome are usually open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. In the afternoon the opening hours change from bank to bank, but it's usually from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From January 2000 many banks carry out a constant opening time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Besides some banks are open overtime on Saturday and Sunday. Outside the bank office there is a counter for money withdrawal with credit card or ATM card. Banks are also supplied with automatic counters for money change. All the counters usually work all around the
clock. Tip: Many banks have lockers outside where you are obliged to leave bags and metal objects as a security measure. They also have doors which usually only allow one person in at a time, again as a security measure. Once inside, if there is no visible line it means that you have to get a number that will indicate your turn. |
